I went to a gastroenterologist because of a white coating on the tongue and heartburn. The doctor wrote a prescription, a referral for an EGD and a blood test for Helicobacter at their clinic. Helicobacter turned out to be negative, so I did not take the antibiotics from the prescription. I completed the whole course plus 10 days, but the tongue became white again, and the doctor went on holiday. I left it, as I was leaving to work in Astana. A year later I came to her with a new EGD and a positive result for Helicobacter.
Disliked
I do not recommend this doctor. She chose the wrong testing method — an outdated one, which is why the treatment did not help. At the follow-up appointment she started making things up, saying that I had not followed the regimen or had taken some pills, raising her voice at me, even though I strictly followed her instructions and did not take any pills. She wrote the same prescription and charged for the initial appointment. She shifts her own mistakes onto the patient.

When I was ill, I came with complaints to a gastroenterologist, but there was no benefit from her at all, and I had to look for another doctor and another clinic. I had severe pain, even after I had been treated in hospital. I had an ultrasound, an oesophagogastroduodenoscopy, I had discharge summaries from the hospital. The doctor examined everything, seemed to study it, diagnosed gastritis and gave a prescription, but there was no use from it. The appointment was not cheap, moreover. And after all, every doctor when prescribing should take a complete blood count and a coprogram (stool), study the tests and draw conclusions. My ultrasound showed bile stasis, an enlarged gallbladder and a kink with a constriction, and the oesophagogastroduodenoscopy showed gastritis. I want to say: if you want proper treatment and a competent doctor, go to ****clinic, there they will definitely help you, as they did for me. Because there they detected pancreatitis in me and that all the bile was going not into the intestine but into the stomach, which is why I had attacks, pain, nausea, vomiting, insomnia — one could go on listing.

The gastroenterologist I consulted with my complaints was of no help at all, I had to change the doctor and the clinic. She looked at all the documents, supposedly studied them, diagnosed gastritis and gave a prescription, but there was no result — money and time wasted, and the appointment was not cheap. At the same time, she did not order a CBC and a coprogram (stool test), although every doctor should do this when prescribing, study the tests and draw conclusions.
