I was very afraid to go to a psychiatrist, but the appointment went calmly. My child is 2.8 years old, he is afraid of doctors, but the consultation took place without white coats and stern looks.
The psychiatrist turned out to be a very pleasant young woman. All my questions were answered — without false promises, but also without frightening me with diagnoses. I am completely satisfied with the consultation.

I came to the appointment with my child, the doctor was 45 minutes late. There were no proper conditions in the office: there was only one chair, and my child and I had to take turns sitting. There was no computer either, the doctor wrote everything by hand.
I was left very disappointed and felt the doctor's incompetence. She immediately told the parent to stay, but to leave the child sitting in the corridor; I refused. The history was not taken fully, it fitted into three lines, the diagnosis was duplicated from the previous report. The doctor never approached the child, did not get up from her chair, did not establish contact, did not give the child any tasks, yet wrote that the child is not coping with learning in year 2 — it is unclear on what grounds. There was no empathy towards the child, it felt as though she was not interested in the child, nor was there any interest in examining him. Most importantly, she suggested undergoing an EPO assessment, where the child's condition would be assessed by a child psychologist without a medical education; otherwise she shifted the responsibility for establishing the diagnosis onto another person. To my question about what diagnosis she envisaged, since she is a psychiatrist, she replied that she could not make one, as the child would need to be admitted to a psychiatric inpatient unit for examination. The report was issued on one page, handwritten anyhow, without a full history, there is no neurological status, everything is superficial, at least 8 lines. My child is calm and affectionate, without aggression. I expected that the doctor would say hello, establish contact, and carry out the assessment properly for such a fee for the appointment. I do not recommend it, you will waste your time and money. We are very, very disappointed.
