I came to the doctor with a chronic anal fissure, which I had treated with ointments, but the effect was temporary. Since childhood I have suffered from constipation, about once every six months I noticed a little blood with stool, and after a bowel movement the anus periodically hurt. Because of embarrassment I did not want to go to a male doctor. At the appointment the doctor examined me and found also external and internal haemorrhoids of the 2nd degree. Then I decided on surgery using the HAL-RAR method + laser excision of 2 fissures. The preparation took about 2.5 weeks: I took tablets and used ointments. The operation was scheduled for the daytime, the preparation was standard — an enema at night and in the morning, eating allowed from the morning. I arrived at the clinic, I was registered, a sick leave certificate was opened, and I went to the ward. The setting is comfortable, the nurses and the doctor are calm. A sample was taken, and after about 30 minutes I was taken to the operating theatre. The operation was painless, lasted about 50 minutes under local anaesthesia; only the injections before the procedure were a little painful, but tolerable. During the operation another fistulous tract was found, which was hiding under the anal fissure, and it was sutured. After the operation the doctor consulted me and gave recommendations on diet and care. After 4 hours I was already going home by taxi. The postoperative period was not easy, but with the doctor's support everything went wonderfully: I went for dressings and did them myself at home, kept to the diet, used ointments and a sitz bath.
