Patient story
I came for an appointment, the doctor diagnosed shingles, but prescribed the treatment incorrectly. I trusted a candidate of medical sciences.
Liked
The diagnosis was made correctly — shingles.
Disliked
The doctor prescribed oxolinic ointment, interferon 90 and antibiotics. These medications do not treat shingles: oxolin and interferon act against influenza A and B, not against herpes Zoster, acyclovir should have been prescribed. Antibiotics against the virus are also unnecessary, especially with a weakened immune system, which plays a key role in treatment. Vitamins and minerals C, D, Zinc, beta-glucan and the like should have been prescribed. I urge people to engage critical thinking, read the instructions for the prescribed medications and trust, but verify.

The doctor is very good. She is not only an experienced dermatologist and knows her craft excellently, but also a physician, and on top of that a good psychologist. She knows how to offer support, monitors my condition and adjusts the treatment when necessary. I also recommend the NewMed clinic itself: excellent doctors, clean, calm, there is a treatment room and a pharmacy.

The diagnosis turned out to be wrong: when I went to a vitiligo centre, there they confirmed that it was 100% vitiligo.
