I came for an appointment, booked through a promotion for 3500, paid 3500. I had purulent tonsillitis, the doctor performed an examination, looked at my throat, ears and nose.

I liked the doctor himself, he was good, prescribed treatment. As for payment, everything was fine.
Disliked
Appointments run on a walk-in queue — so why book at all then. My appointment was for 14:00, but I was seen at 15:00. There were 7 people ahead of me. It felt like a state polyclinic. After all, we book to save time.

My wife and I are pensioners; she found an advertisement on the website and we decided that one of us could take advantage of such a good offer. It stated that an appointment with this specialist cost 12,000 tenge, and with a 75% discount — only 3.5. I booked through the website and took the commuter train from the district centre to Astana, to the Emirmed medical centre. At the cash desk I paid 3,500 tenge, but on the receipt I saw the amount was not 12,000 but 7,000 tenge without the discount, and the discount had been calculated from that amount. I sat in the walk-in queue and waited my turn. The doctor questioned me according to the standard scheme, made notes on the computer and seated me in the chair for an examination — 3 minutes of examination! — and said: 'Your ears are clean, there are no problems.' Then the doctor thought for a couple of minutes and said that the examination paid for with the discount had been carried out, but for a separate fee (4,050 tenge with the discount as for a pensioner) he could carry out a more thorough hearing test by audiometry. I agreed, there was no way out. After this procedure, which is part of the standard set for an ENT specialist, I found out that I have first-degree hearing loss.
Disliked
So it turns out this is just a marketing ploy to attract more clients. A great trick — to pull a 70-year-old pensioner off the sofa and send him from a district centre 180 km away to Astana to have his hearing checked! If I hadn't agreed to the audiometry, then for the 12,000 tenge (if without the discount) advertised by the medical centre, I would have learned nothing more than the fact that my ears are clean and there are no earwax plugs. A question arises: a visit to a specialist for 12 thousand tenge just so that he can look into your ears — isn't that too expensive a procedure at a medical centre?! The folk saying suggests itself: "There's no such thing as a free lunch"! Good luck to everyone, and please don't fall into the mousetraps. The feeling of a deceived elderly person stayed with me for a long time. 13.08.2026.
