I came to this surgical oncologist completely devastated, in low spirits, with a biopsy result that said something about carcinoma. He examined me, set me in a positive frame of mind and began preparing me for surgery. He operated himself, and everything went well. The tumour turned out to be benign.

I had surgery on 2 November, a month ago. Before that, after a fine-needle aspiration biopsy, they diagnosed carcinoma of the thyroid gland and said that I urgently needed surgery in oncology. It sounded like a sentence, I fell into despair. I was advised to consult Professor Bakhtybay Seikhadirovich. After a consultation with him I got my thoughts in order and began preparing for the operation. He assured me that almost 80% are benign. Despite the removal of both lobes of the thyroid gland, the operation went successfully, my voice stayed with me. The tumour indeed turned out to be benign.
