The appointment went like this: the doctor did not take me seriously, did not suggest any tests and assured me that my heart was clean and fine, and that the pain was intercostal muscle spasms. Perhaps he is right, but there were painful spasms, and no one has cancelled out testing and ruling out serious cardiac diagnoses. In my opinion, a doctor cannot make a diagnosis based on an ECG alone. Only after I asked about a cardiac ultrasound and repeated the question about shortness of breath several times did he write a referral for an ultrasound and a Holter monitor. The ECG, by the way, had to be redone, because the tracings were unreadable or poorly calibrated; another doctor recommended repeating it, and we paid 5,000 tenge for it.
I did not like the flippant attitude, the fact that no tests were offered, they insisted on a clean heart and muscle spasms, and made a diagnosis based only on an ECG. I only received a referral for an ultrasound and a Holter monitor after I asked about the ultrasound myself and repeated several times about the shortness of breath. I had to have the ECG redone because of unreadable or poorly adjusted styluses, even though we paid 5,000 tenge for it. Also, the couch in the room moved dangerously and creaked.
